On Friday, 9 August 2024, Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne, together with Father Chris Dimolianis of the Parish of Saints Raphael, Nicholas and Irene; Father Panteleimon Laskaris of the Parish of Saints Constantine and Helen and Father Kyprianos Nerouppos of the Parish of the Holy Apostle Andrew; joined the Year 10 and 11 students of Oakleigh Grammar for the Faith and Wisdom hour with a panel discussion on Healthy Relationships.
Students generated questions and had the opportunity to hear from Bishop Kyriakos and the reverend Fathers on what constitutes healthy relationships. Importantly focusing on how our Orthodox Christian faith supports the development of Healthy Relationships with God, our friends, family and the community at large.
The discussion was practical and shared life experiences and key teachings of our faith, highlighting the importance of fostering strong bonds by active listening, showing respect, and the importance of a spiritual father for our young people as they navigate the world of relationships.
At the conclusion, students presented His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne and the Fathers with a small gift as a token of gratitude for their time spent with the student cohort.
Oakleigh Grammar looks forward to more opportunities to meet with Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne and the priests of our the Diocese of Melbourne.
