On Tuesday, 30 June 2026, the Feast of the Holy Twelve Apostles, in the packed Church of the Holy Apostles, in the city of Newcastle, New South Wales, with the permission and blessing of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was celebrated and presided over by Bishop Christophoros of Kerasounta, who was assisted by Fathers John, Edward, Mark and Nicholas, and the Deacons Father Timotheos, Father Panayiotis and the newly ordained Father Lambros. The presence of Mr Michael Giameios and young people of the local Parish graced the Analogion.
The Divine Liturgy was attended by the Honorary Consul of Greece, Mr. Zisis Antoniadis, with his wife, Mrs. Ioanna Antoniadis, the President of the Parish-Community, Mr. Pavlos Mylonas, and a multitude of Pilgrims from various Parishes of Sydney.
Bishop Christophoros of Kerasounta conveyed to everyone the warm wishes and blessings of Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
After the Divine Liturgy, a Formal luncheon was served in the Community Hall for all, creating a truly wonderful family environment.
Warm thanks and heartfelt gratitude were expressed, first and foremost, to the ladies of the Philoptochos Society, and subsequently to all the volunteers who worked so diligently to prepare everything necessary for the feast celebration.
