With the Blessings of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis, the Archiepiscopal Vicar of Canberra attended St Paul’s Anglican Church for the commencement of the Federal Parliament.
In attendance was the Governor General of Australia, His Excellency David Hurley, the Prime Minister of Australia, the Honourable Anthony Albanese, the Federal Opposition Leader, the Honourable Peter Dutton, Federal Ministers, and Members of Parliament.
At the end of the service, Bishop Bartholomew conveyed the best wishes and prayers on behalf of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia and its Primate, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios.
The Prime Minister of Australia, the Honourable Anthony Albanese embraced His Grace with love conveying his best wishes.
