This morning, Friday, March 4, 2022, Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis attended the NSW Police Academy in Goulburn for the Attestation Ceremony where 193 new probationary officers were sworn in and 3 officers retired after a lengthy service in the force.
Amongst those retiring was Detective Superintendent Arthur Kopsias APM, an officer of Greek descent who proudly and diligently served the NSW Police Force and the community of NSW for over 43 years.
Present at the ceremony were the Honourable Margaret Beazley, Governor of NSW, Peter Toole MP, Deputy Premier of NSW and Minister of Police and Regional NSW, the newly installed NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb APM, and many members of the NSW Police Force.
Bishop Bartholomew congratulated on behalf of Archbishop Makarios of Australia the newly installed Police Commissioner of NSW on her appointment and wished her every blessing from Above.
Moreover on behalf of the Archbishop congratulated Detective Superintendent Arthur Kopsias on his service and wished him every success in his retirement.
