With the Blessings of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis attended the Presbyterian church of St Andrew’s in Canberra where he represented the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia and its Spiritual Head, Archbishop Makarios at the Opening of the 47th Parliament of Australia.
At the end of the service, Bishop Bartholomew conveyed the respect and best wishes of Archbishop Makarios to the Hon Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese and wished the Prime Minister that God grant him good health, patience, and wisdom in leading our Nation.
In return, the Prime Minister thanked Bishop Bartholomew and asked that he convey to Archbishop Makarios his love and gratitude for his friendship and prayers.
