Bishop Michael of Claudioupolis, former assistant of the Exarchate of Russian Parishes, has passed away.
The Bishop of Claudioupolis, Michael Storojenko, was born in Kharkov, Ukraine, in 1929.
In 1943 he arrived in France. He attended the Institut de Théologie Orthodoxe Saint-Serge in Paris, where he graduated in 1953.
He was ordained a Deacon in 1957 and served as a Protodeacon of the Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky in Paris, until May 25, 1995, when he was ordained a Presbyter by Archbishop Sergius of Efkarpia.
He was then elected by the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Assistant Bishop of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Orthodox Parishes of Russian Tradition in Western Europe, under the title of the former bishopric of Claudiopolis, and was ordained on October 8, 1995.
He continued to offer his services as the Archieratic Head of the Sacred Church of the Institut de Théologie Orthodoxe Saint-Serge in Paris.
