With the Blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis, the Archiepiscopal Vicar of Canberra visited Tasmania and served Matins and the Divine Liturgy at the church of St George in Hobart for the feast day celebrations of St George.
His Grace was assisted by Reverend Father Dimitrios Katsis the Parish Priest of Holy Trinity in Hobart.
In his sermon, His Grace provided a historical account on Thomas Sunday moreover His Grace illustrated that St Thomas must not be depicted as a doubter but rather an inspiration. He had a strong desire to see the Risen Lord and his words “My Lord and my God ” illustrate his deep faith in Christ. The Apostle Thomas must be an example for us, that we must also have a desire to be connected to Christ.
At the end of the service His Grace conveyed the Love and Blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and informed the congregation that His Eminence will be visiting the island next month, an opportunity to see our Spiritual Father and obtain his Blessings.
