On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Seoul, Metropolitan Ambrosios of Korea and Exarch of Japan presided over the baptismal Divine Liturgy on the Feast of Saints Constantine and Helen, Equal-to-the-Apostles.
The co-celebrants were Fr. Roman Kavchak, protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne, and Fr. Antonios Lim.
Hyungmin Yang (Aquila), who is of Korean descent and hails from Australia, came exclusively to be baptized in the Orthodox Metropolis of Korea. He was accompanied by his friend and Australian football team colleague, the Greek-Australian Yianni Nicolaou, who attended the sacrament as his godfather.
May the Risen Lord grant him the privilege of living in the embrace of the Orthodox Church until his last breath and may he imitate Christ so that he may spread the Orthodox message to others “seeking the Lord” (Psalm 104:3), just as his patron saints, the Apostle Aquila and his wife Priscilla, who were precious collaborators of the Apostle Paul.
