In a letter dated September 25, 2020, the Attorney General of the State of New Hampshire accuses Metropolitan Methodios of Boston of non-compliance with the emergency measures against the coronavirus pandemic taken by the local Governor.
According to a publication of the “National Herald”, the health authorities had already called in July the local Orthodox Church of the community of St. Nicholas in Portsmouth, after the appearance of many cases in the city, to reconsider the use of common forceps for the Holy Communion as this way was contrary to the measures taken by the Governor of New Hampshire.
Metropolitan Methodios seems to have ignored the instructions of the Authorities by not allowing the use of disposable forceps for the Holy Communion, while according to the Greek newspaper, he did not even inform the Archdiocese of America.
Together with Metropolitan Methodios, both the chancellor of the Metropolis of Boston and the former priest of the community of St. Nicholas are accused by the Prosecutor.
