The Ecumenical Patriarchate Archons in Canada are providing financial support to the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Mexico to help with its relief efforts following the devastating twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela in late June.
The Metropolis, which is under the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and led by Metropolitan Iakovos, sustains and grows the Orthodox faith across Mexico, Central America, Colombia, Venezuela, and the Caribbean.
Following a “Pray for Venezuela” video issued by Bishop Timotheos of Assos, some Archons came together and made private donations (charitable tax receipts were not issued) to help with relief efforts for our Orthodox brethren in Venezuela, as well as in neighbouring Colombia.
The Archons in Canada continue their efforts to support the First Throne of Orthodoxy and its Eparchies around the world, which includes helping the least of our brethren (cf. Mt 25:40) who are in need.
In addition to a humble material contribution, the Archons and faithful in Canada continue to pray for our Orthodox brothers and sisters, as well as for Metropolitan Iakovos, Bishop Timotheos, and all the clergy and faithful of the Holy Metropolis of Mexico who work selflessly to grow the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.
