Archimandrite Nikiforos Kyprianos fell asleep in the Lord. The late priest was born on 4 January 1948. He served as Protosyncellus at the Metropolis of Ioannina from 1985 to 1989.
He served in the Metropolis of Mesogaia and Lavreotiki, he served as head of Church and preacher at the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Spata. He then undertook the construction of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour in Glyka Nera, which he completed.
He also served as hegumen-member of the monastery council at the Agathonos Monastery. He was the spiritual child of Elder Vissarionas. In fact, when Fr. Visarionas fell asleep in the Lord, he did not have vestments for the Fathers to dress him. Father Nikiforos Kyprianos, as a brother of the holy monastery, then offered his own vestments with which they dressed the Elder and buried him.
He was an imposing and solemn clergyman, a tireless preacher with theological education. The memorial service of late Nikiforos Kyprianos will be performed tomorrow at the Church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour in Glyka Nera and a holy vigil will be held tonight.
