Having learned of the election of His Grace Bishop Athanasios of Tropaion as the Metropolitan of the once-illustrious Metropolitanate of Kolonya, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain gives thanks to Almighty God and expresses its gratitude to His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate for honouring Metropolitan Athanasios for his many years of service to Christ and His Church.
