In an announcement, the Archdiocese of Australia has been informed by the New South Wales government that the Church of St. Nektarios and the Church of the Holy Cross in Wollongong are on a list of sites visited by a person tested positive for COVID-19.
The Archdiocese asked the faithful who visited the aforementioned churches during the mentioned hours, namely, from 9 to 10.15 on Sunday, December 27, at the Church of St. Nektarios (39 Atchison St), and from 10.30 to 11.00 on Sunday, December 27, at the Church of the Holy Cross (18 Stewart St), to test immediately and then isolate themselves, awaiting further instructions from the competent health authorities.
The Archdiocese concluded: “With a sense of pastoral responsibility, we once again urge our flock and all citizens without exception to strictly comply with the rules of the State and the instructions of experts to protect public health and prevent the spread of the pandemic.”
