The Federal Government of Australia and the State Government of New South Wales have declared Sunday, 21 December 2025, a Day of Mourning, as a mark of respect for the memory of the victims of the recent deadly terrorist attack in Bondi, Sydney.
The Holy Archdiocese of Australia will participate in the National Day of Mourning. Consequently, all celebratory events scheduled for 21 December throughout the Australian Territory are cancelled, including the festive “Christmas Carols” events that were to take place in Sydney and Northcote of the Holy Diocese of Chora.
