The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America announced the appointment of Mr. Dimitrios Katsiklis as the new Director of Orthodox Marketplace.
Archbishop Elpidophoros of America welcomed Mr. Katsiklis to this important new role during a meeting today at the Archdiocese headquarters in New York City. Also present were Bishop Athenagoras of Nazianzos, Chief Secretary of the Holy Eparchial Synod and Director of the De-partment of Religious Education, and Bishop Nektarios of Diokleia, National Chancellor of the Archdiocese.
This appointment marks a significant moment for Orthodox Marketplace, which now moves forward as an independent ministry of the Archdiocese. Until now, it has operated under the Department of Religious Education, where it has grown and flourished through the dedicated oversight of Bishop Athenagoras.
With the Archbishop’s blessing, Mr. Katsiklis now begins his new ministry, bringing with him a remarkable blend of liturgical, theological, and business experience. A graduate in Theology, Byzantine Musicology, and Business Administration, Mr. Katsiklis has served as Master Chanter and Pastoral Assistant at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and Na-tional Shrine. While he steps down from his role as Pastoral Assistant, he will continue his liturgical ministry as Master Chanter at Saint Nicholas.
In addition to his ecclesiastical service, Mr. Katsiklis has built a distinguished career in corporate finance, investor relations, and maritime business, and serves on the adjunct faculty of Hellenic American University. His deep connection to Orthodox craftsmanship runs even deeper—he and his family formerly operated Pantanassa Bookstore in Karyes, Mount Athos, which be-came known for offering authentic monastic products and liturgical items to the faithful.
As Director, Mr. Katsiklis will lead the Orthodox Marketplace into a new and exciting chapter—expanding its catalog of curated liturgical goods, catechetical resources, and items crafted by Orthodox monastics and artisans, including exclusive offerings from Mount Athos. Plans are al-so underway to enhance the digital shopping platform and strengthen parish and community support services.
“The Orthodox Marketplace is not just a store,” said Mr. Katsiklis. “It is a national ministry of our Archdiocese. It exists to serve the life of the Church—to provide our clergy, parishes, and faithful with the resources they need to teach, worship, and live the Orthodox faith more fully.”
The Archdiocese looks forward to this new chapter in the life of the Orthodox Marketplace and offers its full support and prayers to Mr. Katsiklis as he begins this important work.
As Director, Mr. Katsiklis will lead the Orthodox Marketplace into a new phase focused on expanding its offerings—curated liturgical items, catechetical materials, and resources produced by Orthodox artisans and monastics, including exclusive imports from Mount Athos. A renewed digital platform, improved parish support, and a mission-centered strategy will define this new chapter.
“The Orthodox Marketplace is not merely a store—it is a national ministry,” said Mr. Katsiklis. “It exists to serve the life of the Church and to support our parishes and faithful with the tools and resources needed for Orthodox witness in today’s world.”
