On Thursday, 11 June 2026, Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Greek Orthodox Community of St Barnabas, North London, on the occasion of the feast of the Holy Apostles Barnabas and Bartholomew.
Concelebrating with Archbishop Nikitas were Archimandrite Apostolos Trifilis, the Revd Protopresbyter Konstantinos Garivaldinos, Vicar General, Protopresbyter Panagiotis Dick, Presbyter Petros Georghiou, and Oeconomos Petros Georgiou. Also serving were Archdeacon George Tsourous and Deacon Constantinos Banias. Bishop Iakovos of Claudiopolis joined prayerfully in the Holy Altar.
The church was filled with faithful from across London and beyond, including a group of pilgrims from Cardiff who travelled to participate in the celebrations.
Following the Divine Liturgy, a festive community meal was held in the parish hall. During the gathering, members of the Cardiff community greeted Archbishop Nikitas and presented him with gifts as a token of their love and respect. The faithful of St Barnabas also took the opportunity to offer their warm wishes to the Archbishop ahead of his forthcoming birthday, creating a joyful atmosphere of fellowship and gratitude.
The day served as a fitting celebration of the parish feast and a witness to the unity and vibrant life of the faithful gathered around their Archbishop.
