At St. Andreas Church, Plati Aglantzia, Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus officiated during the Service of the Fourth Stasis of the Salutations to Virgin Mary.
Chrysostomos sang the canon of the Akathist Hymn and then he preached the Divine Word to the congregation, focusing on Virgin Mary’s virtuous life.
According to Archbishop of Cyprus, our personal guilt is usually an impenetrable barrier that prevents us from addressing God. However, we feel more comfortable to address Virgin Mary.
Archbishop also claimed that, according to the hymnological and theological Word of our Church, Virgin Mary is the Divine Entrance of the Saved Ones. She is not only the mother of God, but also our own, and She is willing to sacrifice herself, as her Son did, for our own salvation.
“Man should not get disappointed by the overwhelming sins around us. Let us not lose faith. For, may sin be possible but grace is stronger”, characteristically concluded Chrysostomos.
