Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint Mamas in Lakatamia on the Sunday of the Blind Man.
The Abbot of the Monastery of Apostle Barnabas Archimandrite Ioannis and the clerics participated in the Archieratic Divine Liturgy.
Archbishop Chrysostomos proclaimed the Divine Word. “Getting away from the Light of the world, that is God, is the root cause of our darkness today,” said, inter alia, the Archbishop on the occasion of the day.
Unfortunately, we witness that most people forget or ignore all those fruits of the spirit that Christ has given us with His light, that is true peace of mind, joy, love. A substantial proportion of our people turns its back on them, although we are wonderful people. However, there are those who have faith, love, charity, and others who do not.
The ethos and tradition of our country, Greek Cypriot community, does not find the expected support for what we call Europe and Western Culture. Let us not wait for the foreigners to give us ethos for we have an invaluable heritage, our own light, the teaching of our Christ. The light of Christ is our signpost.”
