On June 26, 2025, Archbishop Georgios of Cyprus expressed his heartfelt condolences to Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East regarding the martyrs of St. Elias Church in Damascus. The message was conveyed during a phone call between the Archbishop and the Patriarch.
Archbishop Georgios conveyed the sympathies of the Cypriot Church to the Patriarch and to the families of the martyrs. In response, the Patriarch thanked the Archbishop for his brotherly support, praying for mercy on the martyrs and peace for the world.
