Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus arrived a few hours ago at Charlotte Douglas Airport in South Carolina, where he was welcomed by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America. Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta also welcomed Archbishop Chrysostomos.
Later, the Archbishop went to the Holy Trinity Cathedral, where a large number of Greeks welcomed him. Children and young people from the community dressed in traditional costumes offered him flowers and received the blessing of the primate of the Church of Cyprus.
The Archbishop is accompanied by the neurosurgeon, Theologos Theologou, and the Director of the Archbishop’s Office, Michalis Spyrou.
The Archbishop will be admitted to a special medical center to undergo liver surgery.
