A message to the faithful was sent by Archbishop Sotirios of Canada in view of Christmas.
In his first-person message to the faithful, he urged them to fast, repent, and confess.
In fact, as reported by the National Herald, referring to the issue of Holy Communion, Archbishop Sotirios urged the faithful not to deal with the way of its distribution, as this was something that did not interest Christ.
“Are you still brooding over the spoon?” The way of distribution of Holy Communion? Too bad. Christ is waiting for you. He is not interested in the spoon. He does not care how He will dwell in you. He is interested in one thing. To live and walk inside you. To give you life. Eternal life. Paradise.”
He also urges the faithful not to become “Orthodox Taliban,” as he said. “Christ is love. Why do you think you are infallible? Why do you want to impose your opinion? Didn’t Lucifer want that too? Where did he end up? You know it better than me. He was a bright spirit and became a demon. He only wants to oppose the will of God. To fight people. Be careful not to follow his example. It seems to me that you have taken this slippery slope.
You are not in church at Christmas. A bad thing. But not deadly. After having received the Holy Communion, Christ is within you. You are in paradise. That is the most important.
My child, come and receive the Holy Communion. That’s all you need. This will save you. Merry and blessed Christmas, my dear Christians, with Christ in our souls.”
