Archbishop Makarios of Australia arrived in Perth, Western Australia, on Friday, September 30, to inaugurate the katholikon of the Holy Monastery of St. John of the Mountain.
The Archbishop will remain in Western Australia until the morning of Tuesday, October 4, and during his stay, apart from the Holy Inauguration he will preside over the Vespers Service on Saturday, October 1, at the Church of the Annunciation, he will perform the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, October 2, at the Church of Saint Nektarios, he will visit the Greek Consulate and the Greek Orthodox Nursing Home of Saint Andrew, while he will meet many of our expatriates.
Upon his arrival at the airport of Perth, the Archbishop was welcomed by Bishop Elpidios of Kyanes, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Perth, Bishop Emilianos of Meloa, former Abbot of the Holy Monastery of St. John, the Brotherhood of the Holy Monastery, the priests of Perth and devout believers.
Archbishop Makarios is accompanied by Archdeacon Athenagoras, Deacon Timothy, and hagiographer Lambros Nizamis.
