Archbishop Makarios of Australia officiated the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, December 15, at St. Spyridon’s Church in Kingsford, where the faithful celebrated the memory of Saint Spyridon.
During the Divine Liturgy, the Deacon, Father Amphilochios Papantonios, was ordained presbyter and will continue to serve at St. Spyridon’s Church.
Archbishop Makarios then presented Stelios Koudounaris and Elsi Tsangari with an award for having provided their service in the Saint Spyridon Parish.
The two recipients were awarded the Silver Cross of Apostle Andrew, one of the highest honorary distinction awarded by the Archdiocese of Australia.
