On the third day of His pastoral visit to Perth, Archbishop Makarios of Australia visited St Andrew’s Grammar Day School in Dianella accompanied by His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea and school Parish Priest, Fr Terry Gerovasilis.
The Archbishop was warmly welcomed by Principal Dawn Clements and was escorted to the gymnasium for an official whole school assembly. This included traditional Greek dancing, audio and visual presentations, and performances by the students.
Archbishop Makarios, in His address to the students, reminded them about the crucial importance of holding onto their faith and identity.
The school presented the Archbishop with a gift and asked Him to keep both the teachers and students in his prayers. Additionally, a special plaque was placed on the wall in the reception area to mark the first official visit of Archbishop Makarios to St Andrew’s Grammar.
