Archbishop Makarios of Australia was among 350 prominent leaders of Australian society invited to attend a prestigious reception at the Federal Parliament in Canberra, held in honor of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
During a warm exchange with the King, Archbishop Makarios conveyed the greetings and love of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, along with the heartfelt wishes of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia. King Charles expressed his appreciation for Patriarch Bartholomew’s thoughtful wishes and acknowledged the positive impact of the Archbishop’s work within the Australian community. Archbishop Makarios is scheduled to meet King Charles again on October 22 at a reception organized by the Government of New South Wales, where other religious leaders will also be in attendance.
