The Archbishop regularly delivers recorded messages of spiritual benefit on the social media platform Instagram. In his most recent message, he notes that “loving someone, or trying to increase your love for them, will not make them love you.” Explaining, overanalyzing, and apologizing will not make the other person understand you. In human relationships, we must make a courageous decision: offer your love freely and without conditions.”
In the same message, Archbishop Makarios highlights that in every case, the one who ultimately gains in a relationship is the one who offers love generously. “Love,” he concludes, “because in the end, only love endures.”
