Archbishop Makarios of Australia has embarked on a three-day pastoral visit to the Holy Diocese of Adelaide. On Friday, September 12, he arrived in the capital of South Australia, accompanied by Bishop Iakovos of Miletoupolis, Abbot of the Holy Monastery of St. George of the Mountain, and Hierodeacon Timotheos.
At Adelaide Airport, the Archbishop was warmly welcomed by Bishop Silouan of Adelaide, local clergy, and distinguished members of the Greek community.
During his stay in Adelaide, Archbishop Makarios will preside over a clergy assembly, consecrate the Church of St. Andrew, and lead the feast day celebrations of the newly established Parish of the Holy Cross. He will also meet with the Consul General of Greece in Adelaide, Ms. Alexandra Theodoropoulou, as well as with other representatives of Hellenic organizations.
