Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria and All Africa visited this morning Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece.
Patriarch Theodore thanked the Church of Greece for the help and support it offers to the Patriarchate of Alexandria. He referred to his recent mission to Uganda, Tanzania, and South Africa and spoke about the Greek element that exists there. He spoke about the situation of the deadly pandemic and the many losses in these countries, emphasizing that he was there to emphasize that he is close to them. “We thank Greece with great gratitude, the Apostolic Church of Greece and above all our humble and strong supporter, His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos,” said the Patriarch.
For his part, the Archbishop expressed his joy for the meeting with the Patriarch and stressed that “there are many things that connect us, but mainly the mission, the effort to meet the great needs of the Patriarchate of Alexandria.” He also stressed that “when the relationships are fraternal there is good cooperation and a lot of fruit”.
