Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece extended heartfelt wishes for the new year to proceed with God’s blessing, peace, and creativity for all, immediately following the cutting of the traditional New Year’s Vasilopita of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens. He emphasized the importance of human efforts being fruitful and accompanied by good and meaningful outcomes.
The ceremony took place at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens and was attended by the Director of the Representation Office of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Athens, Metropolitan Theodoritos of Laodicea; the Representative of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Athens, Metropolitan Georgios of Guinea; the Exarch of the Holy Sepulchre in Athens, Archimandrite Ieronymos; as well as numerous clergy and distinguished guests.
After blessing the Vasilopita, Archbishop Ieronymos offered prayers and expressed his wishes, saying: “May God bless the steps of everyone along the path of the new year. May we all live a year that is creative, a year of peace, a year filled with good fruits, as each soul desires. I therefore wish to all those present here today, as well as to those who are elsewhere and struggling in their own way, that our efforts may be blessed and grant us a year above all marked by peace, a year without problems, with good and fruitful struggles and results. Many years to you all, blessed and prosperous.”
The gathering concluded in an atmosphere of gratitude and hope for the coming year.
