Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All of Greece published his message for the great celebration of Christmas.
In his message, the Archbishop emphasized that “unfortunately man, even when he is in extreme situations to which he has often led himself, such as those of modern times, constantly seeks to have external strength and power”.
The Archbishop also stated in his message that “God comes to set us free from every deception and delusion. He Himself does not strive to defend His prestige and power but offers Himself to the people”.
The Archbishop said that divine humility acted as a powerful antidote to human arrogance, which is the root of sin.
Archbishop Ieronymos stressed that on the difficult days we are going through, “we should stay next to each other with love, hope, understanding, and patience, supporting, and caring for “ourselves and each other”, but most of all, placing our hope in the Born Lord”.
“Let us strive for the preservation of our unity, staying away from all kinds of extremism and fanaticism and, above all, let us remain united with the Eternal God,” said Archbishop Ieronymos concluding his message.
