Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos blessed the New Year’s Vasilopita of the Panhellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Industry yesterday afternoon, during a ceremony held at a central hotel in Athens.
The event was attended by ministers, deputy ministers, members of parliament, representatives of political parties, the academic community, health-sector institutions, patient associations, and executives of the Association’s member companies.
In his address, Archbishop Ieronymos thanked the organizers for the invitation and warm reception, noting among other things that the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, as well as the Church of Greece as a whole, carries out a wide-ranging and multifaceted ministry for people in need of care, medical assistance, support, and continuous presence.
“I would like, on this occasion, to express a sincere ‘thank you,’ because many treatments and many difficulties are addressed quietly, through the contribution of all of you—both those serving in administrative roles and the ordinary people who show sensitivity, understanding, and a willingness to offer,” the Archbishop emphasized.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to attend the event, offering his best wishes for the continued success of the Association’s work. He stressed that its contribution supports not only those directly involved, but also society as a whole, enhancing quality of life and providing meaningful assistance to people and communities.
Concluding, Archbishop Ieronymos wished that the work of the pharmaceutical sector would continue to be beneficial and blessed, marked by health and strength, for the good of Greek society and the country, which, as he noted, faces many ongoing needs.
