Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens is being treated at G. Gennimatas Hospital after suffering a mild ischemic episode. His condition is stable and out of danger.
According to orthodoxtimes.com, the Archbishop experienced mild discomfort and fatigue earlier in the day, prompting his transfer to the hospital for precautionary medical assessment.
Earlier that morning, he had presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens and the ordination of Bishop Ioannis of Skiathos. Shortly afterward, he began to feel slightly unwell.
Throughout the incident, Archbishop Ieronymos remained fully conscious, coherent, and communicative.
Doctors report that his condition is not cause for concern and that he is undergoing standard medical tests. The Archbishop is calm and in good spirits, and is expected to be discharged on Monday afternoon.
