Archbishop Elpidophoros of America wished a blessed Lent to all in a post he made on social media today, on Clean Monday, the 15th of March 2021, which is the first day of Great Lent.
Moreover, the Archbishop of America departed for Constantinople on Saturday, the 13th of March.
Throughout the course of his trip, Archbishop Elpidophoros will attend meetings at the Ecumenical Patriarchate. In addition, he is expected to attend the enthronement of the newly elected Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon on the 20th of March and to participate in the Patriarchal Liturgy commemorating the Feast of Orthodoxy (Sunday of Orthodoxy) on the 22nd of March.
“Being at the Phanar on the First Day of the Holy Fast with the Spiritual Father of us all, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, reminds me that the Lenten journey is one of spiritual joy, made complete by the return to the Father’s house,” he said.
