This week, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese United Nations Girl Delegates arrived in New York to participate in the 69th Session of the UN’s Commission on the Status of Women.
On March 10, 2025, the young delegates had the honor of meeting Archbishop Elpidophoros of America. The Archbishop shared words of encouragement, emphasizing that through their faith, all things are possible, and their community needs their leadership.
“We come from a culture where the role of women is central in both society and culture,” Archbishop Elpidophoros stated.
The delegates described this experience as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that will stay with them forever. Founded by Niki Devaris-Morgulis, the program is now in its second year as a national program, continuing under the guidance of Fr. Nicolas Kazarian and the Department of Inter-Orthodox, Ecumenical, and Interfaith Relations.
