“As we welcome the divine infant of Bethlehem facing humility and poverty, the essence of God’s true power and true glory, let us remember all those who lack this blessing of peace in their daily lives. May the newborn Lord of glory grant this peace to the whole world and bring justice, reconciliation, and hope to the peoples of Ukraine and Russia,” Archbishop Elpidophoros of America said in his Christmas message.
Read below the message of Archbishop Elpidophoros of America:
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, now that you are all at home preparing to celebrate Christmas with your families and friends, I would like to ask you to devote a little of your time and turn your thoughts to all those whose lives have been ruined. They were destroyed by violence and war. The Prophet Isaiah reminds us that “a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Today more than ever we need the Prince of Peace in our world. Especially for our brothers and sisters from Ukraine who suffered and endured almost all of 2022 a brutal invasion by Russia. Tens of thousands of people have died on both sides in a war that, like any war, is unjustified. And unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the end of this war is coming.
As we welcome the divine infant of Bethlehem facing humility and poverty the essence of God’s true power and true glory, let us remember all those who lack this blessing of peace in their daily lives. May the newborn Lord of glory grant this peace to all the world and bring justice, reconciliation, and hope to the peoples of Ukraine and Russia.
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.
May the New Year 2023 be filled with joy and health.
Jesus is born! Glorify Him!
