Archbishop of America: Today more than ever, we need peace for our Ukrainian brothers and sisters (VIDEO)

Archbishop of America Elpidophoros, announced his own message for the Christmas holiday.

The Archbishop emphasizes that today, more than ever, we need peace in the world, especially “for our Ukrainian brothers and sisters who have endured for nearly all of 2022 a brutal invasion by Russia”.

My beloved Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

As you settle into your homes and prepare to enjoy this Holy Feast of Christmas with family and friends, I ask that all of you take a moment to remember those whose lives have been shattered by violence and war.

The Prophet Isaiah promises:

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given … and His name shall be called …The Prince of Peace.
How we need the Prince of Peace more than ever in our world! Especially for our Ukrainian brothers and sisters who have endured for nearly all of 2022 a brutal invasion by Russia.

Tens of thousands have lost their lives on both sides, and, just as there is no justifiable reason for this war, there is no end in sight.

Therefore, as we welcome the Holy Infant of Bethlehem, beholding in His humility and poverty the essence of true power and glory, may we remember those whose lives are deprived of the blessing of peace.

May the Newborn Lord of Glory grant peace to His world, and bring speedy justice, reconciliation, and hope to the Peoples of Ukraine and Russia.

A very Merry Christmas to you and yours, and a happy and healthy 2023.

“Χριστὸς Γεννᾶται! Δοξάσατε!

Christ is Born! Glorify Him!
