“Our primary and strategic goal is for Hellenic College and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Boston to reach their full potential to serve as a guiding force for Orthodoxy, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and the entire world.”
This statement was made by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America during recent board meetings of the two educational institutions, which were convened under his chairmanship and that of the institutions’ President, Dr. Demetrios Katos, to develop strategic planning and advance their mission.
“Our Board of Trustees, faculty, and administrative team are united and committed to strengthening the upward trajectory of our educational institutions in both the short and medium term,” said Archbishop Elpidophoros.
During the meetings, board committees focused on key priorities for the institutions, while the board reviewed financial and academic progress over the past six months.
William Spell, Chair of the Finance Committee, presented positive results and continued improvements while emphasizing the need for continued coordination of efforts to secure financial resources.
Elaine Allen, the Archdiocesan Treasurer, also attended the meetings. She has taken on the task of providing financial support and financial stabilization for the school.
Ms. Allen, a respected member of the Greek American community with a distinguished career in the private financial sector, is volunteering her services to the Archdiocese without compensation.
