On March 28, 2023, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America met with Archbishop Timothy Broglio, President of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), at the USCCB Headquarters in Washington DC.
Archbishop Broglio, who began his tenure as President in November 2022, welcomed Archbishop Elpidophoros together with members of the general secretariat: Michael J.K. Fuller and Paul B.R. Hartman, joined by Walter F. Kedjierski, Executive Director of the Secretariat of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs, and Dr. Ronald G. Roberson, CSP. Archbishop Elpidophoros was accompanied by Rev. Protopresbyter Panagiotis Papazafiropoulos and Rev. Protopresbyter Nicolas Kazarian.
During the meeting, they discussed the close relationship between the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Pope Francis as the foundation for a stronger Catholic-Orthodox collaboration in the United States, not only through theological dialogue but also through common witness vis-à-vis contemporary social issues.
