The Minister of Civil Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, was received by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America at the offices of the Archdiocese of America on Friday morning, as reported by The National Herald.
Takis Theodorikakos arrived at the Archdiocese shortly before 10:00 in the morning, accompanied by his associates. Then he entered the chapel of the Archdiocese, lit a candle and then went up to the office of the Archbishop, who welcomed him.
In the conversation they had, the Archbishop welcomed Takis Theodorikakos and asked him for details about his trip to the USA and the contacts he had the previous days in Washington.

Theodorikakos referred to his program and the joint cooperation activities between Greece and the USA, in terms of public security, as well as to the meetings he held.
In fact, he stood by his US counterpart, Alejandro Mayorkas, whom he described as a “particularly interesting man” while revealing that he has defended his doctoral dissertation on Greek philosophy.
“This is very important, we should get to know him too,” replied Archbishop Elpidophoros.
The Archbishop then praised Takis Theodorikakos for his work in the Ministry of Citizen Protection, emphasizing that “we see that the Greek Police has achieved significant success,” with Theodorikakos pointing out that he acts as political chief of the police force and in no case does it seek to replace it.
“The truth is that we have very good results. On my part, from the first moment I took office, I stressed that I do not want to replace the Greek Police, that I am a political leader and that I want to give the Police other opportunities in order for it to do its job properly,” said Theodorikakos.
The meeting between the Archbishop of America and the minister of Civil Protection lasted about 25 minutes and ended in a very good atmosphere.
