Archbishop Elpidophoros of America hosted a Farewell Dinner for Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi on Monday, May 12, 2025.
The dinner, sponsored by Leadership 100, was held at Sistina in New York City and offered the opportunity for members of Leadership 100 to greet the visiting hierarch.
In his remarks, Archbishop Elpidophoros spoke about the dedication to the Church of the members of Leadership 100 saying, “Your Eminence: tonight, both the leadership and members of the Archbishop Iakovos Leadership One Hundred Endowment Fund have gathered to honor you with this marvelous dinner. These faithful souls have provided both resources and ideas to the work of the Archdiocese in America, and are among the most dedicated members of the Church. Their devotion to the Mother Church of Constantinople is unwavering, and their commitment to the success of this First Eparchy of the Ecumenical Throne in the New World is unyielding. They have labored in unity of heart and mind for over forty years to create an endowment that sustains the ministries and initiatives of the Archdiocese. Their support for Holy Cross Seminary and Hellenic College has been the sine qua non of their progress. Leadership One Hundred is truly a fountain of blessings for the Church that flows with generosity and discretion.”
