On July 11, 2024, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America welcomed to the Archdiocese Headquarters Metropolitan Antony of Hierapolis and Archbishop Daniel of Pamphilon of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the U.S.A. under the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
Amidst the events unfolding in Ukraine, following the illegal invasion of the country by Russia, Archbishop Elpidophoros expressed his steadfast commitment to offering fervent prayers for lasting peace.
The hierarchs particularly mourned the victims of the devastating missile strikes that took place last Monday, resulting in the ruthless destruction of a children’s hospital and claiming innocent lives.
They discussed ways to foster their collaboration and better care for the Ukrainian people affected by this terrible war both abroad and domestically.
They are committed to working closely together in a spirit of fraternal responsibility and extended their heartfelt compassion to all those affected, expressing solidarity with the Ukrainian people during this challenging time of adversity.
