Today, Archbishop Ioannis of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania welcomed a delegation from the Russian Orthodox Church.
The delegation was led by Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Russian Church’s Department of External Church Relations.
The delegation also included Protopresbyter Nikolai Balashov and Protopresbyter Igor Yakimchuk.
Representing the Church of Albania were Metropolitan Anthony of Elbasan, Metropolitan Nathaniel of Amantia, and Bishop Anastasios of Kruja.
During the meeting, the group discussed inter-Orthodox relations and topics related to the presence of Orthodoxy in the modern world. The need for prayer, dialogue, and continuous efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine was emphasized.
