On Sunday, May 4, 2025, the Monastery of Saint Vlash in Albania hosted a festal Divine Liturgy on the occasion of the Sunday of the Myrrh-Bearing Women. The service was led by Archbishop John of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania, marking his first official pastoral visit to this revered monastery.
The Archbishop concelebrated the Liturgy with Metropolitan Nikolla of Fier, Metropolitan Asti of Berat, and Bishop Anastasios of Kruja, along with numerous clergy from the Archbishopric and various metropolises.
The celebration took place in the women’s skete of the Myrrh-Bearing Women, which observes its feast day on this occasion. Faithful from across the country gathered in large numbers to participate in the Liturgy, reflecting the spiritual importance of the event and the deep reverence for the Holy Myrrh-Bearers in the life of the Albanian Orthodox Church.
