For the sixth consecutive day, His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Albania is hospitalized at “Evangelismos” under intensive care conditions.
The doctors treating him consider his health condition critical, according to ERT. Archbishop Anastasios is being closely monitored by the hospital’s medical team under the direction of Professor of Pulmonology and Intensive Care, Anastasia Kotanidou.
Archbishop Anastasios of Albania was admitted to a hospital in Tirana due to a viral infection that has been troubling him since December 30. His condition worsened and on January 3 it was deemed necessary to transfer him to Athens.
On Sunday, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the “Evangelismos” Hospital, where Archbishop Anastasios is being treated, and was informed of his health condition by Professor Anastasia Kotanidou.
On Saturday, Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece visited Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania at the “Evangelismos” Hospital to wish him a speedy recovery.
The two Primates of the Churches of Albania and Greece had a brief conversation, after which Archbishop Ieronymos was briefed by Professor Anastasia Kotanidou on the health status of Archbishop Anastasios.
On Monday morning, the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Mr. Kyriakos Pierrakakis, visited Archbishop Anastasios.
On Monday afternoon, the President of SYRIZA-PS, Sokratis Famellos, visited “Evangelismos” Hospital to be briefed on the health progress of Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana, Durrës and all of Albania.
