Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana and All Albania called on the faithful and “every man of goodwill” to intensify their prayers for peace.
He spoke of fratricidal war and a “monologue of the violence of the powerful”.
He added that the Christian conscience condemns all forms of violence, “persistently motivating everyone, to the best of their ability, to contribute to peace and reconciliation in suffering Ukraine and everywhere.”
Impressive in this case, too, is the absence of any reference to the name of Russia, as an attacking country against Ukrainian territory, in the message of the Archbishop of Albania.
Read the message of Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana and All Albania:
“Deep pain and sorrow flood the souls of the people, when the dialogue for peace is interrupted and the fratricidal war begins with the monologue of the violence of the powerful and victims, as a rule, the innocent, the defenseless and the waves of refugees.
The Christian conscience condemns all forms of violence, urging everyone, to the best of their ability, to contribute to peace and reconciliation in suffering Ukraine and wherever it lands.
The word of Christ remains our firm principle: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.”
