In response to the invitation from “Churches Together in England” to Christian Communities to pray for Ukraine on 3rd April 2022, Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain and CTE President, accompanied by the V. Rev. Archimandrite Nephon Tsimalis, a Trustee of Churches Together England, and a delegation of Orthodox Young Adults gathered with other ecumenical leaders and congregants outside of the Ukrainian Embassy in London.
During the gathering organized by Christian Aid, Christian leaders offered their prayers and held Ukrainian flags shaped as hearts. The Archbishop concluded the gathering calling for an immediate ceasefire and offering a prayer for the peace of the whole world.
Among those in attendance were: The Right Rev. and the Rt Hon. Lord Sentamu, Bishop Kenneth, Eparchial Bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of the Holy Family in London, and Bishop Mike Royal, General Secretary of Churches Together in England.
