On Friday, August 15, 2025, Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain presided at the Orthros service and celebrated the Divine Liturgy for the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos at the Cathedral of the Dormition in Wood Green, London.
Concelebrating with the Archbishop were Metropolitan Athanasios of Colognia and Bishop Iakovos of Claudiopolis. Also participating in the Eucharistic celebration were Archimandrite Theophanis Petrou; Protopresbyter Athanasios Gikas, Dean of the Theological School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki; Protopresbyter Konstantinos Garivaldinos, Chancellor of the Archdiocese and others.
The service was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including Ioannis Tsaousis, Ambassador of Greece to the United Kingdom and other dignitaries.
Following the liturgy, the Wood Green Community hosted its annual Greek Festival, showcasing Greek culture, cuisine, and music to the local community. Numerous stalls offered traditional dishes from Greek and Cypriot cuisine, along with products from Greece, Cyprus, and other Orthodox countries, creating a vibrant atmosphere of fellowship and cultural exchange.
