At noon on Easter Sunday, April 20, Archbishop Makarios of Australia attended a festive meal at a Greek restaurant in central Sydney, accompanied by his associates and friends, including the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese.
His Eminence exchanged Resurrection wishes with the Prime Minister, and the two engaged in a warm and friendly conversation over lunch, discussing matters of mutual interest.
Also present at the Archbishop’s invitation were the Ambassador of Greece to Australia, Stavros Venizelos, and the Consul General of Greece in Sydney, Ioannis Mallikourtis.
