In the presence of Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece and Minister of Education Niki Kerameos, the nursery school- kindergarten “Ionic Education” of the Holy Metropolis of Nea Ionia and Philadelphia, in Heraklion Attica, opened today.
Metropolitan Gabriel of Nea Ionia, who officiated at the Agiasmos service, thanked the Archbishop, the attendants and the donors who helped complete this project. He also made special reference to the knowledge that children receive at this young age.
“We are all grateful to the Metropolis for having such a model school,” Minister of Education Kerameos said and congratulated all the contributors of the initiative.
“I would like to repeat,” the Archbishop emphasized, “that the best investment is our education.
He also added that there are two types of Wisdom, the learning, the knowledge we receive from schools, and God Wisdom, stressing that “at the exact point where these two kinds of Wisdom, meet a charismatic person is created and today we need more charismatic people than ever”.
Metropolitan Makarios of Anea, local authorities, clergy and lay people were also present.
