Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece is expected to be discharged today at noon from “G. Gennimatas” General Hospital, where he was admitted on Sunday afternoon following a mild ischemic episode.
According to information obtained by orthodoxtimes.com, the Archbishop experienced a brief period of discomfort, after which it was deemed appropriate for him to be transferred to the hospital for precautionary medical evaluation.
Earlier that morning, Archbishop Ieronymos had presided over the multi-hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of Athens and attended the ordination of Bishop Ioannis of Skiathos. Shortly afterward, he felt some fatigue, prompting his medical team to act out of caution.

During his hospital stay, he underwent a series of medical tests, with doctors confirming that he is out of danger. Reports indicate that Archbishop Ieronymos is calm and in good condition, and is expected to be discharged by Monday noon.
Official statement from the Holy Synod:
